Cognac describes the warm brown end of the diamond spectrum, a colour that comes from distortion in the crystal lattice rather than from any added element. Brown diamonds were long passed over as industrial goods before jewellers recognised what they do in warm metal. Hardness is unchanged at 10, so the stone handles daily wear as well as any diamond. Designed by Ministry of Gems, handcrafted in our own workshop, colour origin and treatment disclosed.
