The best ring you will ever own is the one designed for you. At Ministry of Gems, bespoke is not a luxury upsell — it is simply how a mine-to-market house works. Your stone comes from gems we unearthed and graded ourselves; your ring is crafted in our own workshop; and our FGAA gemmologist guides every decision in between.
Why designing your own costs less here
Most bespoke jewellery carries the cost of every middleman who touched the stone. Ours carries none: we mine, cut, grade and craft under one roof. That is why made-to-order with us is often no dearer than fine ready-made — and why we will always talk plainly about what your budget can achieve.
How it works
1. The conversation — free and obligation-free
Tell us the occasion, the person, the budget, the style. Bring a photo, a sketch, or nothing but an idea. You can also start from any piece in our collections and adapt it — different stone, different gold, different size.
2. Choose your stone, at the source
Select from Ceylon sapphires, Australian teal and parti sapphires, matched pairs, rubies and emeralds — every stone assessed by Anna Lulinkova, our in-house FGAA gemmologist, with certification available. Unsure where to start? Read our guide to choosing a sapphire.
3. Design and approval
We design around your stone and your hand — metal (9K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold), setting style, proportions. Explore setting styles and two-stone designs for inspiration. You approve the final design before a single gram of gold is cast.
4. The making — in our own workshop
Casting, setting, polishing — with our gemmologist inspecting at every stage. Most commissions are completed within a few weeks, and every finished piece is covered by our guarantee, including free lifetime re-authentication.
