At most jewellers, a custom ring is the premium option. Here it is simply how the house works: you choose a stone we mined or hand-selected ourselves, and our own workshop builds the ring around it — no middlemen, no marked-up mystery, and a gemmologist rather than a salesperson at your side from first conversation to final polish.

How a commission unfolds

1. The conversation Free · in person or video callTell us the occasion, the person, the budget and the style — or bring nothing but an idea. We advise honestly on what achieves the most for your budget, and clients design with us over video call from anywhere in the world.
2. The shortlist Curated for youYou receive a curated shortlist of stones matched to your brief — each with carat, origin and treatment status in writing, and clear pricing — drawn from our own vault or sourced direct from the fields. Take your time; a stone that suits your brief can be reserved while you decide.
3. Choose the stone FGAA-assessedCeylon sapphires from our own mines, Australian teal and parti sapphires, rubies, emeralds and matched pairs — every candidate assessed in-house, treatment disclosed in writing, recorded in our public Treatment Register.
4. Design & approval You approve before we castWe design around your stone — 9K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold — and refine the design with you, render by render, until it is right. Nothing is cast until you have approved the design.
5. The making Most commissions: 2–4 weeksLost-wax casting, setting, finishing and inspection in our own workshop. Many houses quote eight to twelve weeks; because the bench is ours, most commissions complete within two to four of design approval. We keep you close to the making — with word from the bench, and photographs when you wish, as your piece passes wax, casting, setting and final inspection.
6. Delivery & the record Insured · documentedYour piece arrives fully insured, with written treatment disclosure and its stone’s Digital Gemstone Passport — and free lifetime re-authentication by the house, whenever you wish.

Every commission is guided by Anna — our Managing Director and FGAA-qualified gemmologist — from first conversation to final polish. One adviser, start to finish: the person who assesses your stone is the person you talk to.

Frequently asked questions

Does a bespoke ring cost more than ready-made?

Often it costs no more — sometimes less. When a house owns its gem supply and its workshop, made-to-order removes middlemen rather than adding them. Tell us your budget and we will tell you, plainly, what it can achieve.

How long does a commission take?

Design and refinement move at your pace — usually days. Once you approve the design, most commissions complete within two to four weeks in our own workshop, depending on complexity.

Do I need a finished design idea?

No. Bring a photograph, a sketch, or nothing but a feeling. You can also start from any piece in our collection and adapt it — different stone, different gold, different size.

Which stones and metals can I choose?

Gems we sourced ourselves — Ceylon sapphires, Australian teal and parti sapphires, rubies and emeralds — set in 9K, 14K or 18K yellow, white or rose gold.

Can we design remotely?

Yes — clients commission from interstate and overseas by video call, exactly as our reviews describe: consultation, stone selection and design approval all happen on screen, and the finished ring travels fully insured with signature on delivery.

What if I want changes along the way?

Refinement is the point of bespoke. We iterate the design with you before anything is cast, and nothing proceeds to the bench without your written approval.
