Red corundum — chemically the same species as sapphire, coloured by chromium — is what the trade calls ruby, and at Mohs 9 it gives way only to diamond. Most rubies in the market are heated, which we disclose; lead-glass composite material is another matter entirely, and our FGAA-qualified gemmologist rules it out before anything is set. Rouge is designed by Ministry of Gems and handcrafted in our own workshop.
