Fourteen years of marriage is traditionally marked with opal, and earrings are a sympathetic way to give one: a gem of 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale is worn often at the ear and knocked rarely. What it shows is structural rather than chemical, so the colour changes as the wearer does. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth are the whole routine. Designed by Ministry of Gems and handcrafted in our own workshop.
