Padparadscha is a rare natural sapphire showing a delicate mix of pink and orange, named after the lotus blossom. Fine unheated examples are among the most sought-after coloured stones in the world, and demand has risen sharply in recent years.

Are peach and champagne sapphires the same as padparadscha?

They are close neighbours. True padparadscha shows a balanced pink-orange; peach and champagne sapphires sit in the same warm family at gentler saturation, usually at a friendlier price. All are natural corundum.
