Pear shapes were made for pale stones. The long profile carries light down the stone and gathers colour toward the point, which flatters an aquamarine's soft, sea-washed blue. Beryl, 7.5-8 on the Mohs scale, tough enough for occasion and everyday wear alike; heat treatment to remove residual green is near-universal and disclosed. Every stone is assessed in Sydney by our FGAA-qualified gemmologist before our jewellers set it.
