Evening has always suited amethyst, from Roman intaglios to the purple suites of Victorian half-mourning. As a drop, the stone moves beside the face and catches whatever light is going. Quartz at 7 on the Mohs scale wears without much thought, though years of strong sun can lighten the colour, so store it in the dark. Designed by Ministry of Gems and handcrafted in our own workshop.
