April Birthstone — Diamond

Diamond is the birthstone of April, and the gemstone of the tenth, sixtieth and seventy-fifth wedding anniversaries. At 10 on the Mohs scale it is the hardest gem and the most forgiving thing you can put on a hand, which is why it is the one birthstone that suits every piece from a first pair of studs to a ring worn for fifty years. Every diamond here is natural and earth-mined; we do not sell laboratory-grown stones.

Care

Warm soapy water; usually safe in an ultrasonic and steam. Diamond can scratch other jewellery in storage.

Why ours. Natural diamonds set by our own workshop, in designs that start well under the engagement-ring price. We sell natural, earth-mined diamonds only. Where a diamond is treated we disclose it; heavily included or filled stones need gentler cleaning.

An April gift does not have to be an engagement ring. The collection opens with ready-to-ship pavé bands and diamond studs, and rises through pendants, tennis bracelets and the house's signature designs. Diamonds need little care: warm soapy water and a soft brush, and a separate pouch so they do not scratch softer jewellery. If a white sapphire is preferred, the widely used April alternative, we hold them among our Ceylon stones and set them to order.
