Aquamarine is the birthstone of March, and the gemstone of the nineteenth wedding anniversary. It is the sea-blue member of the beryl family, emerald's clearer, calmer sibling, and at 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale it is one of the few coloured stones that is genuinely durable for everyday wear. Every aquamarine here is natural, assessed in-house by our FGAA-qualified gemmologist, and set to order in 9K to 18K gold.

Warm soapy water; usually safe in an ultrasonic. Avoid sudden heat.
Why ours. A sea-blue beryl that survives real life, in the house's clean, bright cuts. Nearly all aquamarine is heated to settle a stable blue; the result is permanent and undetectable, so laboratories generally do not comment on it. We say it out loud.

Honesty first: nearly all aquamarine on the market has been gently heated to drive off green and settle a stable blue. The change is permanent and undetectable, which is why laboratories treat it as standard practice, and we still say it out loud. For a March gift, the pale, clean blues read as modern and the deeper blues as serious; both suit earrings and pendants that need no sizing. Bloodstone, the traditional British March stone, we source on request.
